Dear fandoms of tumblr,as some of you might have heard, one of the BBC’s shows, The Hour, has recently been cancelled. That name might not ring a bell for you, but it’s a really, really excellent work of television, work of art, I dare say.
‘But shows get cancelled frequently!’ Very sadly, they do. But this show was cancelled even though it was pretty clear its creators wanted to continue its production. (Why would you end a season with a shocking cliffhanger then?)The other devastating thing is that one of the show’s key aspects is to bring the people noteworthy television, no matter what it takes. To not let people be dumbed down. And by axing this intelligent, versatile, beautifully done marvel the BBC is doing the exact opposite to what it stands for.
I personally ask for your help, be (in) whatever fandom you are, because ours is a small one. Yes, the BBC made a mistake, they didn’t promote it at all, so even in the UK very few people are familiar with it compared to other well-known programmes. We can’t do anything about that. But what we can do is to express that despite their decision there’s still a demand for the show, there are lots of people who love it and that lots of people want to voice their disappointment over it.So I’m asking you to please help, even if you don’t know a thing about The Hour, just for the sake of quality television and for the sake of helping each other. Imagine if your favourite show was to be cancelled. We’d help you too.
If you want to know why is it such an amazing show, click here. But most importantly, please sign this petition made by Alice, the starter of our campaign. And reblog this post to spread the word. More about the #savethehour movement here.

You don’t get nominated for Golden Globes, repeatedly, for nothing…

 I. Regret. NOTHING. NOTHINGNOTHINGNOTHING—

I have to admit, crossovers can be fun too (if constructed well) and Molly Hooper/Martin Crieff would be the cutest thing ever. Don’t judge me, please.

EDIT: Holy shit, this crossover has a name?

FOUND IT! :D

Martin Freeman’s grandfather was a medic for the army and a war hero, and decades later his grandson plays one of the most famous army doctors in literature and wins a BAFTA for it.

This really makes my heart go ‘Aawww’  His grandfather would be proud.
