Skyfall lands eight surprise nominations at BAFTAs

23rd Bond film ‘Skyfall’ has been nominated for eight BAFTAs, including Outstanding British Film.
The Sam Mendes-directed record-breaker also received nods for Supporting Actor, for Javier Bardem, Supporting Actress, for Judi Dench, and Original Music, for composer Thomas Newman, while Roger Deakins is recognised for his cinematography on the film.

Steven Spielberg’s biopic ‘Lincoln’ scooped the most nominations with 10, including Best Film, Leading Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, and Supporting Actress for Sally Field.
Meanwhile, ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Life of Pi’ have both received nominations in nine categories, with Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’ receiving seven and ‘Anna Karenina’, six.
Up in the hotly-contested Best Film category are ‘Argo’, Tom Hooper’s ‘Les Miserables’, Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’, ‘Lincoln’ and Kathryn Bigelow’s ‘Zero Dark Thirty’.
The ceremony will take place February 10 at the Royal Opera House in London, hosted by Stephen Fry.

Congratulations to all for extremely well deserved wins for their work on the stunning opening episode of Sherlock Series Two!The BAFTA TV Craft Awards occur separately from the main BAFTA Television Awards, which are being held on May 27th 2012 and feature a further four nominations for Sherlock - Benedict Cumberbatch for Best Actor, Martin Freeman and Andrew Scott both vying for Best Supporting Actor, and the series as a whole nominated for the BAFTA YouTube Audience Award, which remains open for voting in the UK here.

British Academy Television Craft Awards Nominations Announced
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the nominations for its annual British Academy Television Craft Awards.
